Brand new to the wheel? Start here — no experience needed.

Learn to center clay, pull walls, make bowls and cylinders, and glaze your work.

Most beginners finish the course with about 3–5 finished pieces — handmade, glazed, and ready to take home in about 2 weeks.

Studio tools available, bring your own, or basic tool kits available for purchase.

Multi-week class — one class per week, 2.5 hours each.

Clay must be purchased separately—starting at $32 for 25 lbs—which includes glaze and firing fees.
📅 Beginner Wheel Class Times
📅 Weekly Class Breakdown
Week 1: Intro to the Wheel
Learn how to prepare clay, center it, and throw simple forms like bowls and cylinders.
Week 2: Trimming & Refining
Trim and refine your pots, add foot rings, and shape your forms with intention.
Weeks 3 & Beyond: Rinse & Repeat
Build on what you've learned with another round through the process—more practice, more confidence. Finish up any of your wheel projects and also a great opportunity to get creative - add some personality with carving or underglaze.
Final Weeks: Surface Decoration & Glazing
On the final week we will glaze any pots that have been bisqued.
